Stay Warm in the Winter and Cool in the Summer
From Start to Finish, LEAN is Here for You!
LEAN (the Low-Income Energy Affordability Network), a Mass Save Partner, is the statewide network of local community action agencies that provide energy services at no cost to income eligible households.
Weatherization upgrades like air sealing and insulation can increase your comfort at home, and when installed in a well-weatherized home, heat pumps can use less energy to maintain steady temperatures in every season.

Benefits of Participation:
Enhance Comfort
Reduce drafts and cold spots for more even temperatures in every season. A more comfortable space can increase tenant retention for landlords
Reduce Energy Consumption
By sealing air leaks and using energy-efficient heating and cooling, your home can use less energy to stay comfortable.
Reduce Pollution
Using cleaner energy creates less pollution, creating a healthier living environment inside of your home and beyond.
Lower Maintenance Costs
Reducing the energy needed to power a system can extend a system's life because it doesn't need to work as hard to heat and cool a home.
What happens after I fill out the form?
Once you’ve filled out the form, a member of LEAN’s Statewide Client Services Center will contact you to complete your application and qualify you for the program.
Once qualified, a program representative will contact you to schedule your Home Energy Assessment at a time convenient for you.
What should I expect from my Home Energy Assessment?
An energy expert will visit your home to look for ways to improve comfort and reduce energy use. They will check insulation, air leaks, heating systems, and major appliances, and may install simple energy-saving items during the visit. At the end of the assessment, they’ll let you know what improvements your home may qualify for, such as weatherization, appliance replacement, or heating upgrades.
What if I rent my home?
If you are paying for utilities, you can still complete a no-cost home energy assessment for your unit.
Through LEAN, the building owner or designee must sign an acknowledgement form that can be provided by our Statewide Client Services Center. We are also able to support landlord-tenant relations and coordinations throughout the process.
What if I am over income?
If your household income does not qualify you for the program, you may still be eligible to receive a no-cost assessment.
